The Art of Knowing Thyself

Kristina Yannotta, Modern Mystery School Life Activation Practitioner, Videographer

Art is very much a part of our lives, whether we are very drawn to it or don't give it much attention, it is everywhere and has been a part of  human existence since the beginning. I have always loved art, but could never really understand why I loved it. I also didn’t really understand why I gravitated towards certain pieces and types of art more than others. For example, I love art that came from the Renaissance era but I could never put a finger on why. In films especially, there are some shots that I will look at and study more than others.

This is also true for many other people. There are reasons why certain paintings, sculptures, music, films and other forms of art are still talked about as being masterpieces. For me, it wasn’t until becoming an initiate and taking classes like Sacred Geometry 1 and 2 that the power of art finally clicked. In Sacred Geometry, we learn that the language of God is numbers, letters, and sounds. The form of Sacred Geometry is like a crystalized idea from the mind of God - and that divine shape is the backbone of the creation of art.

Linear perspective is what gives paintings like ‘The Last Supper’ by DaVinci, or ‘School of Athens’ by Raphael, the illusion that the painting has depth to it. This is achieved with the use of lines that form triangles (as we learn in Sacred Geometry 1- triangles are a primary key). One point perspective also utilizes long triangles to create an anchor point in paintings like ‘Bedroom in Arles’ by Van Gogh.

In film composition (seriously, google film composition and click images, it's gonna blow your socks off…at least it does for me), the backbone of any style of creating a shot in film is  shapes. The rule of thirds, which is a grid of squares, is the first rule  of film composition taught to videographers. Some other commonly used rules of composition are the golden ratio, which is the golden spiral (based on the Fibonacci sequence) and the inverted Y, which utilizes depth of field to make it look like you are looking at the corner of a cube.

We gravitate towards certain art more than others because art is a reflection of who we are as God. Art that embraces sacred geometry and uplifts all of us, whether we are aware of it or not, to our Godhood, allows the light to spread more easily.

After becoming a Ritual Master, I noticed that my discernment around art became stronger. It started to become easier for me to feel when art lifts my soul’s awareness as God. Humanity has, generally, lost its connection with God and this  shows in much of the art being created today. A good majority of mainstream art today does not seek to reflect our Godhood. Instead, it consists of pieces such as hitting wet clay with a microphone to see what it sounds like, nailing words to a wall, or a specific arrangement of trash materials - it may be interesting, but not something that uplifts humanity like true art – art that is based on conscious use of sacred geometry and art that is focused on God.

Since art is very much a reflection of the conditions of society, we as Initiates, Ritual Masters, and Healers, have the duty and privilege of reminding others that they are God. Being on this path of Initiation makes it easier to create and identify true art when we see it as we come to know ourselves more deeply. One powerful way we can do that is through the art we create. God is art, we are God… let’s make some awesome art that will remind others that we are more than just this meat suit!
